Best BBQ in town. I love their brisket and I am very picky when it comes to brisket. Everything on their menu is delicious. I even went as far as to have them cater my wedding. Both Nathalie and Harvey were very attentive to all our needs. Everyone at the wedding raved about the food. It was an amazing night and Harvey's BBQ played a big role in that. Thank you Harvey and Nathalie. You guys run a great establishment. My wife and I wish you two the bests

The food is good, still not as great as Shiver's. The first couple of times we ordered from Harvey's were great however the last time - my fiance and I decided to purchase our meal from eat24, which was probably the biggest mistake. The food took 2 hours to finally arrive in it's entirety after 3 failed attempts to get my order correct. Upon receiving my meal the corn tasted as if it had been sitting in bath water all day the food was terribly cold and needless to say the frustration of having to wait 2 hours for my meal did not leave us as happy customers. I can not discredit them entirely, when I happened to call and express our frustration they instantly gave us 50% off on our next meal. Their customer service was understanding and at the end of the day although I wasn't satisfied with their neglect regarding my order, they were quick to make it up to us. All in all... I do have to recommend their sloppy Joe, it is to die for! Perhaps my experience this time around partially had to do with eat24, however to say that it was entirely their fault would be biased.

I was craving a good bbq pulled pork and decided to try Harvey s Smokehouse. The pulled pork and bbq ratio was spot on, not too much not too little. The sides were just ok. If I'm in the neighborhood and want some bbq, I will go back.

Coming here is never disappointing. Food is always amazing and fresh. Brisket and pulled chicken are by far the best options on the menu. Not to mention the bread pudding no way I can stick to my healthy eating when I'm in the area.

First time here was very disapointed ordered a family dinner baby back ribs cole slaw and mac & cheese was very over priced didn't get baby backs and the meat was very chewy, the cole slaw was ok nothing to rave about and the mac & cheese was nothing special. Thought it was very over priced paid $ 80.00 don't think I'll be coming back here sorry

I love their brisket - always cooked right and not fatty like other BBQ places. Also their stuffed potatoes are great!

Ah, if only the food was as good as the incredible BBQ aroma that hits you the second you open the door! Still, Harvey's Smokehouse BBQ is a fine spot that scratches the BBQ itch. I had the pulled pork plate. The pulled pork was served with sauce on it. If not for that, it would have been super dry. Tasted ok. In retrospect, I would definitely have tried something else. The Texas toast was delicious -- crisp, firm, perfect amount of butter. I am inevitably disappointed by Texas toast, which seems often too floppy or overly-buttered. But this was great. Chipotle fries were also very good. They were cooked right and had great seasoning. Only the beans were below average. They were pretty bland. I got an extra side of BBQ sauce to mix in with them and this helped. All the food was served fast and hot. Keep in mind that this is not a great spot to eat in. Only a few tables, and the person at the counter is the one serving.

The food is really good! Ribs were tender & a lot of flavor. I'm really picky about mac & cheese, but theirs is quite tasty. I've gotten their take-out twice & I'd definitely eat here again.

On our hungry adventures, this place came up. However, the address from yelp took us to a neighborhood. So I had to Google the place and put in that address. I don't know, Florida and their weird addresses. Anywho. Setup: It is quite small, located in a plaza. Staff: The host was pleasant, she explained the menu and provided suggestions. Food: We had baby ribs, mac&cheese, & Chipotle fries. The ribs are smoked, meaty and very good. The mac n cheese tasted very bland, I was disappointed. The Chipotle fries were off the chain! Must have. Price: For this food, it was not bad. For our stuff, with drinks came out to $40. Overall, I enjoyed it.

We came to Harvey's on whim and I'm so glad we did! The food was incredible! I got the steak wrap which was delicious and my boyfriend got the brisket. Everything was very yummy. My only critique is that this place is very tiny I think it's meant for more take out than a sit down place. Harvey and the staff were very friendly and we had a very nice experience. Def check them out for catering as well!

Ordered the ribs and a wrap. Food unfortunately didn't arrive hot, the fires where kinda soggy. Even with these set backs, the ribs tasted ok nothing to brag about. The corn on the cob was very disappointing. I still giving them the benifits of the doubt and giving this place 3 stars, maybe I'll order again in future and give them another try. BTW the price is kinda high, so watch out for that.

I live in south Miami but I'll happily drive thirty to forty minutes for Harvey's grub. Love the ribs and chicken the best. Even the bread pudding is good here. The people are always sweet, too. Best bbq in town by far.

Great Prices, great food, and great portions!! I love nacho Tuesday for $6.41 and its regular portion. I really like the food here, my go to are the spare ribs with two sides for $12.49, it easily feeds me and my 5 year old son! Even though he takes the Texas toast lol. Also if you pay cash they give you free banana pudding!!!

Harvey's is a pretty good. It's a small hole in the wall BBQ restaurants. There is only 3 tables in the restaurant so seating is limited. It seems that most people do take out. They don't serve alcohol or and everything is on a paper plate or styrofoam box. However Harvey serves good, fall off the bone, traditional BBQ. I had a full rack of ribs and it was delicious. It cost me $17.00 for a full rack with two sides. It totally hit the spot for BBQ. We also had the pull pork and that was great too. They don't put the money into the decoration but they do definitely put time into the food. Harvey is the actual owner and he's the one in the back cooking. Good experience but I think ill do take out next time.

A few hits and some near misses here. I am going to start off with the near misses. The meat on the baby back ribs were just falling off the bone. You could not just eat an individual rib and there was no smoke ring. Makes me wonder if they cook the things in an oven or something and then put it in the smoker to get that smoke taste. Not the best I have had but tasty. I also got the pulled chicken with the sauce on the side. The meat was heavily seasoned and again no sign of pink indicating that there was a smoke ring on any of the pieces of meat but it was still not bad. The hits were the sides and the bread pudding! The baked beans were nice and super thick. Not soupy like many places will serve it. The potato salad I have to say was the best I have had at a restaurant. The potato chunks were cooked perfectly..not mushy . It had the right amount of mayo! The bread pudding was amazing! Not too sweet. Just right.

I will begin this review by saying I should've known better than to get BBQ from a place that has quesadillas and nachos on their menu! My husband thinks I'm BBQ spoiled due to traveling the country and having some of the most amazing smoked meats in the world. I may have to agree with his logic. Now, I ordered the brisket and he ordered the rib tips. I was shocked that there was not one vegetable side option (sorry but cole slaw and potato salad don't count). The best part of our dinner was the Texas Toast, why you ask? Because it's the same Texas Toast that is in the freezer at your local grocery store (seriously, go check it out). That to me is a huge red flag. I mean seriously people, toast isn't difficult, make an effort! The brisket was sliced so thin that I thought it was Gyro meat! There was no visible smoke ring on the meat at all and it was so dry if I would've slapped my husband with it he may have gotten a significant bruise. The rib tips were just as dry and unimpressive. The potato salad and cole slaw were absolutely pathetic (for lack of a better word). They weren't even basically seasoned (c'mon people...salt and pepper...hello!). The chipotle fries weren't bad, considering they were generic frozen fries just dusted in blackening seasoning. Overall, I could have made better BBQ in my yard with a smoker I made out of aluminum foil and some PVC pipe. I don't know if maybe it was that day, that staff, or just some random act of God that caused this culinary disaster but I strongly suggest that someone gets their act together at this local establishment soon!

We've been eating here for years but lately inconsistent with food and charges like delivery charges appear and disappear and don't expect your food on time either for delivery bc was told 30 mins and arrived 1 hr later! Harvey's is nice and staff is nice too.

I am beyond disappointed. This is not real BBQ. It is oven baked! I specifically asked how they prepared their ribs when I walked and and the server said that they were smoked. I was a bit skeptical when I noticed that they sauced their ribs. This is always a sign that the ribs are baked. What really sent me over the edge was the cut of the "St. Louis" style ribs. A prideful pit master would have never allowed the butcher to leave the tips on! This is BBQ 101. I don't even want to review the sides

Short version: This place is so damn good and easily has the best BBQ I've ever had in Miami. Shorty's is straight up basura compared to Harvey's BBQ. When you walk into Harvey's the smell hits your face like a Mike Tyson uppercut. My mouth was already watering just from the smell. They have everything you can imagine a BBQ place would offer in terms of entrees and sides. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich because a good pulled pork should be the cornerstone of any BBQ place, and my friend ordered some spare ribs. For sides we got some potato salad, fries, and baked beans. When I got my plate, I knew it was going to be a treat. The sandwich was LOADED with pork. It was enough to have a completely full sandwich and have enough left over to eat with a fork and a knife. The chipotle fries were also great. My friend's spare ribs were fall off the bone tender and well worth getting too. The BBQ sauce is very sweet and you can tell it doesn't come from a can or a bottle. It's some if the best sauce I've ever had. They forgot my friend's potato salad, so they gave us a bread pudding. It was a delicious gooey thing with cinnamon, chocolate and powdered sugar and oh God I'm drooling again. There are no words that can properly capture how fantastic everything was. Good lord, I want to go back tomorrow even though it's like a 30 minute drive away. I can only hope they expand soon. Also, Harvey is one of the nicest dudes ever, and talks to everyone there. He used to work at the Ritz-Carlton and clearly picked up a couple of tricks. Just a great person. The staff is also very friendly and they're quick with getting you what you need. I'd be remiss not to mention some of the few cons: Extremely limited indoor seating, no fountain drinks (I personally prefer them), and definitely more of a takeout/delivery place even though eating it there let's you eat every hot and fresh. Even with all that, the food speaks for itself. Just go here. TL;DR: Harvey's is some of the best BBQ I've ever had, and you should go check it out.

We live close by and always thought of going in but since it always looks so empty we thought it wasn't good but today I was craving ribs and decided to try it. I got the baby-back ribs, first it had a lot of meat and it fell of the bone It cannot get any better than that and my hubby the pulled pork wow. We'll defiantly eat from there again.

Let me start off by saying, I am picky picky eater, and this is by far the BEST pulled pork I have ever tried ! Yumm, I am still savoring the deliciousness. It was very juicy, tender and had the perfect barbecue sauce. The portions are a decent size and the delivery was quite fast. I am very satisfied and can't wait to try the rest of the items on the menu. :)

We had Harvey's cater our wedding and we are so thankful that we found them! Harvey's is not only excellent BBQ, they are family-owned. When we went to their restaurant, we met Harvey and his wife Natalie. Natalie is amazing - she helped us plan our menu, and she coordinated with Chrstina's Party Rental for our tables, chairs, linens, etc. Throughout the process, Natalie coordinated all of our changes to the menu and to our decor with a friendly, professional attitude. She even visited our venue a few days before the wedding to plan out where everything would be situated. Natalie was so flexible that I even called her the day before our event a few times for issues not directly related to her services (we needed coolers for the bar, which was a separate service I had hired), and she was able to come through for us with ease. At the wedding, Harvey's provided waitstaff to serve food. All of our guests loved the food. We had a few gluten-free/dairy-free guests, as well as vegetarians guests. Harvey created some dishes for them as well that held their own against the delicious pulled pork and pulled chicken. We recommend Harvey's for any catering need you might have! And at the end of the day, given the great service, the price was right!

Great place for ribs!!!! Fall off the bone good with all the marinade spices and you can taste the goodness in each bite of food. Warm your belly good! The ambiance feels like your eating at your friends house and he just happened to have people serving his barbeque. The prices also was a suprise, as it was inexpensive to e at there for four people, our bill was 46 dollars and we left stuffed!!! Definitely would recommend this place!

Disappointed. I really didn't mind that they really aren't set up for sit down service. I ordered the pulled pork plate. The sides I chose were Cole slaw, fries, and collard greens. The pork may have been better if it wasn't drenched in sweet BBQ sauce. But from what I could tell, nothing special. The cole slaw seemed fresh but has a strange taste. Chipotle fries were stale. The collard greens were way too salty. If you want average BBQ, this place is fine.

Great BBQ ... Classic small joint meant for take-out (limited seating, don't serve alcohol) ... Pick up your food and enjoy it at home ... The spare-ribs are super on-point but don't underestimate the smoked chicken either.

Harvey's is in a ordinary-looking strip shopping center at the northernmost end of the Old Cutler Road business district in Cutler Bay. Plain old glass front, and a rather bland and slightly worn interior, but Harvey serves up some pretty good 'Q in the modest surroundings. There is plenty of parking, but not a lot of seating available - two four-place tables, and one two-place table. Most business has seemed to be take-out when I've been by. I've been to Harvey's several times since he opened for business, and really have only been disappointed once (more on that later). Yesterday I picked up the "Junior Sampler" to go. The samplers used to be a steal. But, alas, the prices have gone up from $50 for the big one to now $69.99, and $25 for the Junior to now $42.99. I think it's still a savings over trying to put it together a la carte. What's in the Junior Sampler? 1 lb Spare Ribs 1/2 Chicken 1/2 lb Pulled Pork 1/2 lb Brisket (3) 1/2-pint Sides (4) Texas Toast Garlic Bread Slices I chose cole slaw, baked beans and mac 'n cheese for my sides. I also got a full rack of Baby-Back Ribs. The meats all had one thing in common. They are so mildly seasoned as to make any seasonings undetectable. Nice smokey meat flavor, but I wouldn't want them without BBQ sauce. The Baby Backs were tender, just barely "fall-off-the-bone," but not so much that you can't eat or separate them without them disintegrating (which I experienced recently elsewhere). The Spare Ribs were big bruisers, meaty and tender. They're not St. Louis style, as they have the cartilage-like chine bones at the ends of the ribs left on. They also had what I consider a nice little char on the surface. 1/2-lb will get you four big ribs. The Brisket was a lot better than I had in the past here. They used to give you what was essentially pulled/chopped brisket. It was a pile of crumbly stuff, kind of like what a well-done pot roast turns into. Flavorfull, but not what I wanted! Now it is served in fairly-intact strips. It's reasonably moist for smoked brisket, too. The Pulled Pork was pretty good. It had a nice texture, not too fatty or slimy like some places serve, and had enough bits of "bark" from the outside of the meat to add some texture contrast. I the BBQ Chicken was pretty good, too. It had a nice crust on the skin, and plenty of good, chickeny flavor. If you have a No-Red-Meat eater in the crowd, this chicken will please. There are four house sauces available: Harvey's Original - could be a non-smoky KC Masterpiece. Tennessee Spicy Red - Thinner than Original, slightly spicy, no sugar. KC Sweet & Tangy - Mild, sweet and sour. Carolina Mustard - This was almost like straight brown mustard with a little vinegar. Might be good on a pork sandwich. I didn't care for it. The Texas Toast was pleasant. Frankly, it disappeared before I could make notes! I liked the Cole Slaw. It was freshly shredded, with bits of red cabbage and carrot that I detected. The dressing was no-doubt mayo-based, but not too thick and cloying, with a bit of tartness to it. There also was another flavor that I couldn't pin down, but I liked it. The Mac 'N Cheese avoided being dry, but had no baked crust! I think it has a combination of a couple of Italian cheeses. The backed beans tasted good, but I think they were just a quality canned product. The only meat I detected was a piece of salt pork for seasoning, like one would find in canned pork & beans. I wouldn't waste a side on them. The staff was friendly, and the service was quick, but for traditional BBQ items, I'm not sure I'd cross the county to go there. They do deliver, and are convenient for Cutler Bay and Palmetto Bay and surroundings.

Excellent BBQ! Probably the best I have ever had. This place is a hidden gem. Ideal for take out or for catering a party. Very little seating inside, but to be honest, I would eat this BBQ standing. It is absolutely amazing and so flavorful. The brisket, ribs and chicken is second to none. The meat falls off the bone. And the BBQ sauce is to die for. Oh! And the bread pudding! The bread pudding is phenomenal! Can you tell I am crazy about this place? A definite must try.

Had the brisket and baked beans - brisket was dry, seemed like left overs from last night. BBQ helped the dryness a bit. Oh, and no sweet tea...What the? They only serve nestle tea in a bottle. Not impressed this time.

  • Jeff G.

Wow, what a letdown. Maybe my standards are too high but I would not call this good BBQ. I'm not basing this soley on the meat itself. I can have mediocre meat (meaty-ocre!!) and great sides or awesome sides and I would be happy. Shorty's is a good example, I love their sauce but the meat lacks flavor. Anyway, I ordered a half rack of babyback ribs platter.. Prices were reasonable and the place smelled pretty good but until I ate here, I never thought one could infuse too much smoke flavor into a piece of meat.. I know better now. No, it wasn't burnt, it was just overpowering. The lack of choices of good sides were another disappointment.. The fries were pretty standard but I would have liked more choice. Sauces? Well, this is where I think this place excells in suckage. The sauces are served in thimble sized containers AND they charge EXTRA for them! To add insult to injury, they sauces weren't any good. Especially the "Mustard Sauce" which I think is just Mustard. Spicy Brown Mustard, but certainly not a sauce. But wait, there's more! Thirsty? Want a drink of water? You've got to buy it bottled. The reason given: "They don't have a filter on their tap water" Really? I wasn't aware of any ordinance that says you can't serve tap water to customers. Are they saying the county tap water is not worthy, or are they just trying to extract more money from my wallet? Hmm.. Actually, I think I should drop my rating another star, but I'll be nice and keep it a 2 star experience.

Wanted to update on my last review- ordered delivery today for lunch. They told me it would be 45-60 min. That was fine with me - I'm used to that. But then it was 90 minutes... So I called back. They apologized and explained that they were very busy and gave me a huge discount on my food. I used to work in the food industry as a manager and I get that sometimes things go wrong. I also get that when they do, you should apologize and offer something in return. They did a great job and have definitely earned my business again. Food was still delicious as always. Customer service is a lost art threes days - and I am glad to see it alive and well at Harvey's.

First time eating from Harveys, I had it delivered. I ordered the Chicken & Ribs w/beans and Chipotle Fries. I asked which of the ribs had a more smoky taste and they said the spare ribs, they sent me the babyback but whatever since this was my first time I decided to not return it. I eat the ribs and the dry rub on was good (4 out of 5), smoke taste was weak (2 out of 5)...I understand they inject the smoke, not my favorite method. I eat the chicken and its the same story as the ribs. The chicken & ribs did taste better with the BBQ sauce (4 out of 5), I like the sauce because of the "spicy kick" it had and sweet too...I did not like the tiny container for the sauce because I was limited, next time I'll order 3 extra sauces. The beans (2 out of 5) were average until I put the BBQ sauce in it, that made a big difference. The Chipotle Fries (2 out of 5), I'm not a big fan of the type of fries that they used (I prefer those fries with a cuban sandwich) but the chipotle seasoning was great. I would order and eat at Harvey's again, I am a big supporter of small business and great BBQ...I understand they can't please everyone but this is good enough to go back.

Fabulous BBQ. Yes, it is definitely a take-out place, but this is not "take-out" quality BBQ. This is the best BBQ (much better than Shortys) that I've had in a long time. But there is only a table or two meant more for waiting for your food rather than eating there. And there is zero ambiance. But I gave them 5 stars anyway. Why? Because BBQ isn't supposed to be haughty. It is about good BBQ FOOD. And they have it. And the sides. Order it to-go, eat it at home and when your finished, wipe your hands on your jeans, take them off, and throw them in the washer.

  • Joe W.

They had outstanding cole slaw, but their BBQ was a bit on the "average side" to me. Being a Texan, and expecting other peoples BBQ to stand up to Texas BBQ is an unfair expectation so I throw that out the window. When it comes to BBQ, I do expect the meat to be tender, and flavorful. I must have gotten these guys on bad day, or maybe even some BBQ that was from the previous day and was just reheated. I tried the "platter for 2" or something to that nature. It was about $30 and gave me 2-3 sides. The Ribs were tough, and the brisket looked as if it was from the previous day. The chicken did taste fresh, and that was the only thing that was decent. Would I eat here again... yes, however I would request to get some fresh food made that day and try some other side dishes. The beans did taste as if they came from a can, and not homemade.

You will not find better BBQ than Harvey's. AMAZING! The brisket is so tender! I have been to so many places where their brisket has the consistency of shoe leather, it is refreshing to find a place that gets it right every time. The pulled pork is sublime! I highly recommend that you get it with the mustard sauce and then put Harvey's original on top. The taste you get when you combine the two sauces is insane! If you happen to be there at a time when they are a little slow and Harvey is around, you are in for a great conversation about BBQ. He is so nice and genuinely cares about whether or not you enjoy his food. The only tiny complaint that I have, and it is not enough to knock a star off of my rating, is that they charge for extra sauce. C'mon man! If I am buying $40 worth of BBQ, kick down some extra sauce. Other than that, I am a big fan of Harvey's! P.S. Harvey's is pretty much just for takeout. Yes there are two tables, but are only ideal for a quick bite.

Third time's the charm! I got brisket and pulled pork to take to a friend of mine who had just had a baby. They were generous and included a little cup of each of the sauces. All of them were TERRIFIC! I love this place so much, I just wish they had a full sized restaurant where I could bring my family and sit down. The economy being what it is, I am just glad they haven't closed shop - but my wish for them is a large dining room and enough room to house those large slow cooking ovens that produce that incredible BBQ.

Lives up to its reputation... Had smoked wings Jerk Style. They were very smokey and very meaty. Werent fried, which is a great change. One thing about smoked meat: A little goes a long ways... Which is a good thing

5 stars. Any local secret BBQ joint has to be rated on food alone. That's the rules!! No one who cares about BBQ cares about anything else but the craft and if it's perfectly done with love. Who is Harvey? Well, one thing is that he's not from the South, shocking, oh my, but his pedigree is impeccable. Just peek at his chef training and history on the various framed newspaper articles on the walls and you'll know that the charming man who is helping you about 50% of the time you visit is the real deal (you can discover that for yourself, shh, when you go). I've traveled the country's best BBQ locations, that's right, been to the disputed top 25, and handsdown Harvey makes the #1 pulled pork. It's so perfectly done, I can't seem to order anything else, and sadly haven't even been able to get close to his ribs or beef. One day... I swear...anyway, here's the top 5 reasons it's perfect. #1 Delectable pink smoke ring. From several kinds of wood. It's not just applewood or hickory here, and I happen to know it takes time to get that ring. #2 Delicious "bark" still crusting various chunks. We all know that's the best part. #3 Yes chunks! Nicely sized roughly chopped chunky pieces not shredded to strings like other places. #4 Not overcooked. Yes, there's a fine line to perfectly done, juicy and tender and that overtoughened by from overcooking in sauce that fake BBQ joints think is best. Harvey himeself adds the sauce while it's reheated over the smoking grill, so you get a little caramelization, not stewing in sauce. GENIUS. I hope that wasn't a secret, oops. #5 Not oversauced. He'll ask you which sauce, but you should get the original. It's a perfect balance of sweet, tart tangy and zesty. Add heat as you wish on the side. Harvey has generous portions. In fact, for my takeout, I often get a portion for 3 and easily get 5 or sandwiches out of it. Yay leftovers! His dinner for 3, comes with a couple sides. The corn on the cob is charred over the grill. The mac n cheese is mild, creamy thick and rich on dairy. His cole slaw is very fresh, slightly sweet, and multicolored with bits of carrot and purple cabbage. His best side is the collard greens, which are smoky and filled with so much delicious pork, it's probably about 25%. Of course you can get hot pepper vinegar on that, what else?

GREAT BBQ! When my boyfriend and i walked in the girl at the register greeted us with a genuine smile and was super friendly and helpful . This place is small but the flavors are huge. We tried the pulled pork which was juicy and flavorful and the baby back ribs that were awesome-ly smokey and delicious. The coleslaw was fresh and their original bbq sauce was on point. Harvey, yes thee Harvey was there working in the kitchen and made it a point to check in with us, making sure everything was to our liking. Overall the place was clean and the food was great. I will deff be coming back.

I had just finished watching a marathon of BBQ pitmasters and got a craving for BBQ. I had saw this place when I was driving by and gave it a try. I was really glad I did. Being the pig I am I got the junior sampler for myself. It says it feeds 2-3, but it could have easily fed 4 people. In fact it provided me with 5 meals in total... thats a great value. Brisket was solid. Tender, beefy. Chicken was juicy too, liked it more than i thought I would have. Pulled pork was good, I thought their carolina mustard sauce was thicker than I'd have liked. The ribs had a great intense smoke taste that I love. The ribs are spares but not a st louis cut so you get the rib tips which are a big plus. Their house sauce is a must on almost everything. Sides were surprisingly good too. Mac and cheese was nice and sharp (they must use white cheddar or some parmesean. The beans were also very good. Really happy I stopped in. I took off 1 star bc I tried calling ahead to place my order and no one ever picked up. I'm sure this isn't usually the case, but even though I ordered from the counter, they got me my food fairly quickly.

Amazing little gem in Cutler Bay. I've had the pleasure of experiencing Harvey's as a restaurant and as a catering company and both were excellent. The restaurant staff was friendly and the food was absolutely delicious. My daughters whine everytime we drive by so they can get their bbq fix. Must haves on the menu are the Beef Brisket and their amazing bread pudding!

I love Harvey's! I come for lunch every now and then since they are close to my office. They have great, affordable lunch specials. My favorite is the Smoked BBQ Chicken Wrap which is BBQ chicken, bacon, cheese, avacado, carmalized onion, smoked tomato, herd cream cheese and lettuce in a tortilla. Ah-mazing!! It evem comes with coleslaw and fries for $5.99. I think other reviewers were a bit harsh about the seating here, there are 3 tables that each seat 4 people. It is a small place and could maybe use a woman's touch in the decorating dept but it's my kind of place. If you're in the area make it a point to stop in.

The fugitive gasses had peaked my interest for some time. So, late one weekday afternoon, when making one of Rachel Ray's famous 143 minute meals didn't sound appealing, Joey and I made a cold call at Harvey's. A quick peruse of the menu and I knew that one trip wasn't going to cover all that I wanted to try. We left with ribs, pulled pork & a slew of sides. The collards were ok, but since this is one of the foods like "Minute Rice" that I can't seem to pull off, they'll do when there's a hankering. 10 minutes later we were leaving with two nights worth of dinner in less time than Ms. Ray's commercial breaks.

My #1 place to get ribs!!! And the Mac n cheese is different but still amazing!!

The beef brisket is so tender and literally finger-lickin' good, you won't believe it. And their fries are crispy and seasoned - YUM. Not many tables, um, there's like three, but get an order and take it with you wherever you need to go. They have family meals that are super generous (like a whole chicken, lots of sides, and Texas toast) but you still won't have leftovers because it's SO good. If you're on a budget, this is the place to eat lunch. Specials are like $4.99 and $5.99 - can't beat it. Sides are pretty tasty. But the one bad thing is you have to have Iced Tea, the brewed kind, at a bbq place, and they only have cans. [Insert curse word here!] Harvey's is really a take out joint. But I like eating lunch here. Quesadillas are another favorite.

The food was not bad, actually, it was OK, not the best. What I disliked the most was the "hotness" aka "spicy" food. I'm very sensitive to spicy/hot food and they're baby back ribs were on FIRE. For someone normal this was probably just "mild" but a warning would have been nice. The best thing about this place is that it DELIVERS!!

Harvey's smoke house pretty good. It should do very well in Cutler Bay. It's the only Barbecue in the area. If you haven't tried place already I would recommend i That you do.

When you consider the prices quantity and quality this place is great! For 3.99 you get a massive loaded potato with pulled pork with slaw and fries ( i know the fries are an overkill). For 4.99 you get a pulled pork sandwich with slaw and fries. The pulled pork was delicious....better than any value menu item and for the same price....I tried their MAC n cheese but was severely disappointed it was more like fettuccini macaroni..all in all when compared to fast food prices this place is hands down awesome because the quality is better...can't beat their lunch menu.....

My friend and I a ordered take-out meal from Harvey's Smokehouse BBQ in Cutler Bay on a Saturday afternoon. We sampled some beef brisket, pulled pork, mac and cheese and sweet potato fries. I was very impressed with everything. It came with extra sauce, too, which I used the following day when making a brisket sandwich. This was some of the best BBQ I've had in a long time. The sides were delicious, too. I'm sure I'll go back again soon.

Ok I dont know what the hell happened with my review! I like Harvey's NO ONE CONTACTED ME TO REVIEW THEM! Harvey's slow roast brisket is delish. I really liked the sandwich. It's just a little small I wish they had a few more tables. Maybe also an extractor the BBQ smell while delicious can be overwhelming

Harvey's was occupied by various sub shops in the last 4 years that we have been living in the area. we were very sad to see the sub shop go and when I saw there was a BBQ place opening up there, I was disappointed. It's been open for a bit and finally we decided to try it. We were not sorry! We got a sampler platter with ribs, bbq pork, bbq chicken - all delicious! They ask want kind of sauce you like. We got the regular bbq sauce and a side of the red spicy sauce which was very tasty - not horribly spicy. The sides are great - fries are seasoned and have a great flavor. Mac and cheese is different - but good! It's mac and cheese with white cheese and yummy spices. My favorite is the collard greens with warm vinegar. There's pork in the collard greens and add the vinegar for a special treat! SOOOO good. Last but not least, the COBBLER. Worth it just to get some of this but be early because they sell out quickly!! It's pretty much gone the moment it gets out of the oven. Peach is my favorite and add some powdered sugar - mmmmmmm. Not a lot of seating in this place but it's awesome to take home!!!

Yum!! The baby back ribs are delicious, very meaty and tender, completely falls off the bone. The mac n' cheese is different but very tasty. The bread pudding is delicious!! Only reason I dont give it 5 starts is because it is really not a place to sit down and eat. We got there with the idea to sit down and eat but ended up having to take it to go...only 2 small tables inside and no beer.

Just had lunch at Harvey's and it was delicious!!!! Had the baby back ribs and the meat fell off the bone. I sampled all the sauces and Harvey's original was my favorite. I am definitely planning on going more often for lunch and bringing friends. You can call ahead and place your order so it is ready when you arrive. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!

I had the Cuban Pulled Pork Sandwich, which came with seasoned fries and potato salad. With a drink, the total was less than $7. The sandwich was AWESOME! The fries were GREAT! The potato salad hit the spot to finish the combo! Unfortunately, I'm not from the area. However, next time I'm around, I will be heading back to Harvey's!

I would have never thought that such great food would come out of this place. Harvey's is a small place with about 2-3 tables for dine-in seating. I have never actually eaten there but instead we are take out regulars. I haven't put anything in my mouth from this place that was not ridiculously good. Everything from the beef brisket, the Mac & cheese, baked beans, & even the chicken tender are great. Then you dip it into this small side of BBQ sauce and everything gets kicked up a huge notch. Ladies & gents, even the bun that they use for the above referenced sandwich is fresh and great. We are lucky that we live close to Havey's, but if you don't, and you're taking a drive this way, it is definitely worth a try. Enjoy!!

Almost time I am down south I come here. This takeout place has some of the best BBQ in South Florida. It's a little expensive, but worth it. The classics are all done right here with some nice touches. Pulled pork, BBQ chicken, and ribs are all as good as anywhere, and the BBQ chicken sandwich is what dreams are made of. Baked beans are just OK, other sides are excellent. The owners are very friendly, and the other staff usually are too. The atmosphere is...well...it's a dumpy takeout place with a couple tables, and bad enough for me to knock off one star, so take it down the street to Black Point Marina.

Our take out was pretty bad due to excessive rub mixed and spiced to ineffable. It was so excessive I have to believe a mistake and will give another shot. No one Could finish their meal.

I haven't physically been inside Harvey's--but Harvey's sure has been inside me...and boy did I enjoy it! My brother orders takeout from here all the time and I'm not complaining. Everything I've tried is phenomenal...I'm going to actually go out on a limb here and say it's the best barbecue I've ever had in Miami. The meat is super tender and flavorful. My favorite is the Pulled pork and I'm also a big fan of the beef brisket. The texas toast, baked beans and mac n'cheez here are also fantastic! I only wish there was one close to me!

  • Amelia M.

I was a little disappointed....had heard mixed reviews but decided to try it myself since it is down the street. I was not thrilled....we tried the pulled pork and the beef brisket sandwich combos, with the vinegar based sauce and the sweet and savory one...needless to say, I like the Shorty's versions better. The fries were tasty a little spicy and the cole slaw was quite good, but we went for the BBQ. :( If you can make it for the lunch specials offered Mon-Fri the sandwiches come w/fries and slaw and are an ample portion, then it is worth it. If you are craving great BBQ the drive to Shorty's is worthwhile.

Pretty disappointing after some great reviews. Was there today. They don't have real sweet tea. A few tables. Atmosphere left alot to be desired. food was just ok. I hate eating sit down with plastic picnic forks and plates. I'll take Sonny's or the Bird Rd Shorty's anyday.

  • Susy M.

If you are tired of Shorty's and looking for something new, search no further - this is the place. We had the the pulled pork with both the carolina mustard and Tennessee spicy red sauces. The pork was juicy, tender, not an ounce of fat or grease, it was cooked to perfection and had a nice hint of mesquite flavor, my mouth is watering as I type this... the Texas toast, is soft and buttery, the cole slaw is creamy and tangy, the baked beans are smooth and sweet, and even the fries are perfectly golden. Harveys is about 30 minutes away from our house, but it's totally worth the drive. We can't wait to go back and try the brisket and their chicken. The dine-in seating area is small, but it's cozy and clean.

Just gave Harvey's a shot today despite negative reviews and I am glad I did. Yes the place is in a strip mall, and yes it is a hole in the wall joint, but the food makes up for all this. Thankfully I didn't have to drive as far as most because I live right around the corner from Harvey's. I inquired while I was there as to why they have nothing on the walls, and they told me that they are still remodeling and they want everything to be finished before they start putting everything up. I think this should have been done before they opened up but I look forward to see what they do in the coming weeks. They only have two small tables so it's defintely not a place you would go with a big group...quite frankly I would just recommend picking something up to go. I had the pulled pork sandwich with french fries and slaw. Everything was good in it's own different way. The french fries had a little bit of spiceyness to them, which was unexpected but welcomed. It wasn't very spicy...just spicy enough. The cole slaw had a bit of a citrus sweetness to it which was quite nice. Then there was the piece de resistance...the pulled pork sandwich. The pork wasn't smothered in an overwhelming BBQ sauce as I thought it would be because thats just how most places do it. Instead it had a few fresh herbs and spices and had a little bit of a vinegar mustard reduction sauce which was definitely a different approach for pulled pork but it was delicious. I like that they stepped outside the conventional pulled pork recipe box. My only complaint is I wish the vinegar mustard sauce they had was a little saucier...just to make the sandwich a little more juicy...but it was good none the less.

I went to a birthday in Coral Gables last night. I didn't think that I would make it a long night, and even thought about not going. Then a little bird told me that they were using this new BBQ place called "Harvey's". That totally changed my weekend plans. I drove to the party, (almost 200 people) and from blocks away I rolled down my windows and smelled a smoky sweet slice of heaven. When I arrived at the party I looked to the back of a huge grassy plot of land and found Chef Harvey grilling up a storm. Sure enough his table, not the bar, was swarming with people. I've already expressed the level of nirvana inspiring bliss that the pulled pork induced on me during my last visit, this time I had the very fortunate opportunity to try BBQ chicken and brisket. Both were out of this world. The chicken doesn't even taste like chicken. Its like a whole new food, I don't know what he does but it was the star of the party. All this new BBQ paired with piles of coleslaw (also home made) and baked beans (home made again) left no room for the birthday cake. I've said it before but this guy takes BBQ to a whole new level. A easy 5 stars! I've only got one question when is Harvey's Brickell opening?

Took my daughter because she loves pulled pork sandwiches. I took one bite for the review. It was nothing to write home about but it did deserve a written review. The pork was a bit tough. My daughter said it was ok but said the pulled BBQ chicken sandwich from Church's chicken for 99 cents tastes better. This sandwich from Harvey's was 4.99 with fries. I would not go out of my way like one of the previous yelpers to come here and eat!

Many years here in Miami in search of the perfect barbecue place since I had the best rack of babyback ribs I'd ever had...in Mississippi. My search is over! THE best barbecue smoked flavor ever can be found here at Harvey's and, after my first visit yesterday, I can tell you I will be back...OFTEN. The babybacks I had were smoked to perfection and the rub and original barbecue sauce were compliments (as many rib places drown out true flavor by having the bbq meat swim in sauce). Not so at Harvey's...and I had the pleasure of meeting Harvey himself who served us at our table. It only has 3 tables, so you may want to take-out but I prefer to eat in. Sides were very good, too! I plan to try the bbq chicken and beef brisket next... BBQ LOVERS: THIS PLACE IS A MUST!

quite possibly the worst BBQ ive ever had. 18 bucks for a full rack and we ended up throwing it out. stay away i should add that i went when it first opened so this could have just been a bad run. But my food was really really bad

I thought Shivers was the best ( even though I knew it wasn't ), until I had real smoked BBQ. Harvey's is the real deal. There's no boiling or steaming going on there. All the meats are great, and his collard greens are awesome. It's basically take out only. I wish he would move and build a log cabin type smokehouse and pack 'em in!

  • Henry G.

Really tasty and fresh and I learned the chef is actually Harvey himself so you can get an idea of how much legit effort goes into the cooking. The only issue is that they only have 2 tables as of Feb 2010.
